Can a 2-Channel rc helicopter do 3-D flying ?

Answer
No, the 2Ch rc helicopter is a toy helicopter, which can go up and down, and use the tail to control the direction.

For the 4CH helicopters, it can go up, down, turn left and right, go forward and backward, example flying video: http://www.linknety.com/modevideos/demo/zoom.php?id=15

For 3D Flying, this mean the helicopter need to fly upside down, the 2CH and 4CH helicopters can not do this. 3D flying require at least 6Ch, example heliocpters: Blade CP, Esky CP2, Trex, check this videos here: http://www.linknety.com/modevideos/demo/zoom.php?id=10 (as you can see, the esky cp2 is flyig upside down 3D flying in the movie)

any tips on a good helicopter for beginners?

Answer
mmm...I dont know what the hell that guy is trying to tell you, but, if you are going into RC Helicopters, I suggest something basic, durable, and affordable. The picooz he mentioned is no longer in stores. However, a similar product, the Air Hogs Havoc, is a great 2 channel helicopter. a channel represents how many functions the remote control could do. i.e. 2 channels, the Air Hogs Havoc could be controlled with the heli going up, down, and rotate left and right. It is really durable and fun at the price of $30. If you want a step up, you could go for the 3 channel Air Hogs Reflex/Helix. This helicopter could go up, down, rotate left and right, and go forward and backwards. This helicopter is really great for a second step up. As for the third step up, the next best thing would be a E-Flite Blade CX (2). There are two different helicopters. The CX2 just has a better transmitter. This is a very good helicopter to fly. It is a 4 channel helicopter. You could control forward/backward flight, tilt left right, rotate left, right, and control the up and down. This heli is $180-$200. It somewhat mimics the full function of a real scale helicopter. The only thing about this is that it has a self centering balance on it, making it easy for you to hover. Then after that, you could go anyway you want because you are familiar with the controls. I would suggest the Blade CP or CP Pro depending on how confident you are. This runes about $260. Hope this helps. Email me for more questions
