I have just recently ventured into the RC Helicopter world. For my first heli I decided on an ESky Lama V4 which is what they call a coaxial heli. It has two sets of main blades stacked on top of each other turning in opposite directions & no tail rotor. It offers up & down(of course), sway left & sway right, forward & backwards, and spin left & spin right. After researching them a bit I found that the coaxial heli is perfect for beginners and novice pilots due to the controls being very easy to learn and master. This unit came with a flight simulator that allows you to fly right on your computer using the actual remote for the heli. It also came with a training kit to help aid in first time flights and landings. All this cost me about $85.00. It is a nice sized heli for still being considered a mini. It measures about 16" long and about 7" tall.
There is a another helicopter made by EFlite called the Blade CX and CX2. These are very close in comparison to the Lama but with a little higher price at about $120.00. Both are very nice helis and look great! Also both of these helis are easily upgraded to allow for individual tinkering and likes if your brother decides he really likes the RC helicopter as a hobby. Oh, I forgot to mention........ both of these are electric helis and can be flown indoors as well as outdoors. Hope this helps!

T1 and T2. They are traveling together at different location. At the time t = 0, they depart and
follow different straight-line paths given by

T1: x = 3 + 2t, y = â1 + 4t, z = 2 + t
T2: x = 3 + 2t, y = 2 + t, z = â2 + 2t


Time t is measured in minutes and all coordinates are measured in meter. Determine
whether the two RC mini helicopters are going to collide with each other.
During the flight of T2 , the engine is malfunction at (7, 4, 2) and, in a negligible amount of
time, it lands at (7, 4, 0). Five minutes later, T1 is advised to heads toward T2 at the speed of
5m/min. How long will it take T1 to reach T2?

Since their x-coordinates are always the same,
let's just see if (y1,z1) ever matches (y2,z2)
-1 + 4t = 2 + t AND 2+t = -2 + 2t
From the first we would have t = 1 minute exactly,
but this doesn't satisfy the 2nd equation, so they never collide.

OK second part.
For T2, the coordinate (7,4,2) is reached when t = 2 minutes.
At t = 7 minutes, the coordinates of T1 would be (17,27,9).
To reach (7,4,0), T1 must travel sqrt(100 + 529 + 81) = sqrt(710 m^2),
a little less than 27 meters.
Traveling at 5 m per minute, this will take about 5.33 min
or 5 minutes 20 seconds.
