Fo people who no wat they are, who nose wats beter out of a picco z rc copter an a mini blade runner rc copter

Q. these are remote control helicopters not real ones, if anyone owns or has owned 1 of these helicopters- plz post its performance with your answer- thank u very very much

:-) xD

Answer
Never had the Mini Blade however I recently bought the PicooZ which is now sold as the Air Hogs Havoc Heli in the US and is sold in Target and Walmart ($30)

VERY cool and very good quality. I recommend.

What are some sentimental but inexpensive gift ideas for my parents?

Q. My sister and I already bought them each a small present from us, but I also want to do something special for the both of them because we've had some really creative presents in the past. I was thinking of putting together a gift basket for the two of them, but I don't know what I'd put in it.. I already got a lotion/hand soap set for my mom and a mini RC helicopter for my dad (he's a kid at heart lol). Any ideas of what I could put in the basket, or easy things I could make for them instead? Thanks!
Oh, I also don't mind getting them something store-bought as long as it is original and creative. =)

Answer
you could make them some cookies or buy some chocolates and put that in the baskets. christas ornaments are good too. hallmark has cute ones that are good for everyone. mini packets of coffee and a coffee cup would be good if they like to drink coffee. you can also get cheap movies at walmart which would be good if they like to watch movies. you could also put a picture of you and your siblings in a cute picture frame and put that in there for them too.

What kind of rc helicopter should I be getting?

Chance

My dad is going to be getting me something for Christmas, $85 limit. I want a rc helicopter. Ive only had cheap walmart ones before, so i need some expertise. Im wanting a namebrand fairly decent sized helicopter that will be able take some minor crashes. I did a little research and it seems that the Align T-Rex 250 is decent. Any ideas? Remember I have $85 to spend, including taxes and shipping.

Answer
I wouldn't recommend the Align T-Rex 250, and it's over the budget anyways? The smaller the helicopter, the more crashes it can resist, and the cheaper the replacement parts are. Just the battery looks like it's 3 times more expensive than a mini helicopter, and you will need extra batteries if you would like to fly for more than 10 minutes.

Do you have a radio/controller already? If you do, you could buy the BNF version of the helicopter and it will be cheaper. If you don't, then look for the RTF version that comes with a radio/controller.

The Blade MCX RTF is $80 at Horizon Hobby
http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/blade-mcx-rtf-EFLH2200
It's a coaxil heli, so you will have to fly it indoors and outdoors only when it's not too windy. It can take a good beating, better than the t-rex, and the parts are pretty cheap.

These 3 are some I have looked at while I was doing research about rc helicopters when I wanted to purchase one. These are fun, you won't be able to do 3D tricks with them though. It depends how many channels was the one you had, these are 3 channels and good practice.

The Syma S107 is $27 at amazon. It's a beginner helicopter, but it's small and reviews say it does good in taking crashes (4 out of 5 stars).

The Helizone Combat fighter 3.5 Channels looks fun. It's $36.99 on amazon, and you can look up videos on youtube.

The Syma S107C has a built in camera, and it's $39 on amazon.

I purchased the Nano CP X BNF, and a DX6i receiver, and depending your age and experience, this is not a beginner one. But it's just something to look for in the future if you want to get into the hobby. The heli cost me $160 online, and the reciever/controller (DX6i) cost me $70 USED.

You could also suggest to him to look on craigslist for used ones, don't be uptight about it and demand a new one if your father can't afford ones over $85. I bought the DX6i for my boyfriend from craigslist, and it came in original box and everything, for less than half the price, and he loves it anyways. You could find a used Blade MCX or MCX2 for a really good price, and if it's from a person that looks like it's their hobby, it will probably be very well taken care of.

you or your father should check out this forum's for sale threads:
http://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6

you can also feel free to ask questions on there, or check out the "newbie" section for advice, there has been many people also asking for a beginner heli, so you can read the responses.

Don't try to get a "professional" type helicopter because for those you need to make a bigger investment than just the helicopter. For an advanced heli you need an advanced radio, not the ones it comes with, and you will need to purchase a simulator to practice on because crashing the helicopter will cost you a lot of money!

Goodluck and have fun :)

why wont my mini rc helicopter fly outside?

Neil J

no its not the wind. im talking about the copter doesnt react to the remote like it does inside. outside theres more of a delayed reaction. tell me why is that?

Answer
It is because your helicopter most likely uses infrared technology.
So when flying outside...
It does work, but the signal is just shortened. The range of an IR signal is usually limited to around 30 feet or less. Infrared, also called optical control or opti-control, requires line-of-sight, that is, the LED on the IR transmitter must be pointing at the IR receiver in order to work. It doesn't see through walls. Depending on the strength of the IR signal and interference from sunlight or other infrared-transmitting devices, the range may be shortened. These limitations make IR unsuitable for RC vehicles intended for long-range flight, outdoor racing, and other activities where it may be difficult to stay in range and within line-of-sight.
So... now you know... Let me explain what you might see when you go outside and try. When you go out, you will try to fly your helicopter. It will work, but after a while, itll start flying by itself, and youll lose contorl. It will work, its just that your range is incredibly shortened.

Now, if your helicopter had an antenna on it, and it isnt using infrared technology, then it is most likely due to interference. but I doubt it.
Does your remote look like this:

my mini rc helicopters wings are working but not flying in air how should i fix it?

SHLOK AVHA

imean my rc helicopter is made to fly but now its not flying.first i used to fly it.but now lower most wings r not catching speed.

Answer
this is a common failure in ALL mini rc helicopters...

your motor burned out, the main motor so the headspeed cannot reach enough speed to take off.... sorry man but you can't fix a burned motor unless you buy a new one but i don't know where you can find such motor because you know, they're not common...

try ebay... dissasemble the helicopter carefully, and see if the motor has letters, then put those letters on ebay and see if they have it...

why does my RC Mini helicopter 9098A not work?

Q. I bought my nephew an RC mini helicopter the, 9098A with Gyroscope.

The leds on the heli work, bought new batteries for the Remote, and yet I cant get it to fly.
We try ed for multiple times. The manual says I need to get it gyro scoped with the ground. I try ed this and yet it does not work!
Can anybody please tell me how I can get it done so It flys?

Answer
if you haven't flown it in a while or charged it in a while, it could be junk because not charging it in a while could destroy the battery or motor. try taking it back to where you got it from, and get a new one with your receipt. hope i helped!! =}

Simple Model Helicopter???

jjlucash

If I were to take a battery-operated rotary motor (from one of those pocket/mini fans), and attach large model helicopter blades to it (in order to compensate for any weight from the body of the helicopter), would it lift off the ground?

Better yet, let me rephrase: If I were to take a battery-operated rotary motor, and attach large model helicopter blades to it, would the model lift off the ground?

*The model will have a tether so I won't lose it.
I haven't built anything yet, but for now, I want the model simply to go upward.

Answer
Radio Controlled (RC) helicopters are model aircraft which are distinct from RC airplanes because of the differences in construction, aerodynamics, and flight training. Several basic designs of RC helicopters exist, some more maneuverable than others (such as helicopters with collective pitch). The more maneuverable designs are often harder to fly, but benefit from greater aerobatic capabilities.

Flight controls allow pilots to control the collective and throttle (usually linked together), the cyclic controls (pitch and roll), and the tail rotor (yaw). Controlling these in unison enables the helicopter to perform most of the maneuvers an aeroplane can do, and many that aeroplanes cannot, such as hovering and backwards flight; in this manner, they are quite similar in operation to full-sized helicopters.

The various helicopter controls are effected by means of small servo motors. A piezoelectric gyroscope is typically used on the tail rotor (yaw) control to counter wind- and torque-reaction-induced tail movement. This "gyro" does not apply a mechanical force, but rather, electronically adjusts the control signal to the tail rotor servo.

The engines used are typically methanol-powered two-stroke motors, but gasoline, jet turbine and increasingly electric brushless motors combined with a high-performance lithium polymer battery are also used.

How do i fix a spinning rc helicopter?

Q. The model is ... Cobra 3 channel mini helicopter X107 with gyro. I know that the top blades are spinning faster causeing the issue. But how do i fix it?

Answer
the top blade always spins faster than the bottom one (same with big lama 4ch co-axial helicopter, had one... and always broke the upper blade) so here's what you'll do:

if the helicopter spins in a crazy way to watever side, then:

go to the receiver, next to it there is a mixer, like 2 knobs that you can put a screw on it and move it, look carefully and move the "Proportion" knob left or right until the helicopter stops spinning.

if it spins slowly then:

look your transmitter, it has like little knobs that you can adjust left or right, they're called "Trim tabs" move the trim tab from your rudder left or right until the helicopter is steady.

if that's not the problem then it might be time to replace the motor of the upper blade.

if that's not the problem, go to www.rcgroups.com create an accout, post this question there and folks with waaay more experience than me will help you out.

Happy New Year!

mini helicopter rc see the description?

look at that vid and tell me what is that spinning thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guUMvuX7_7Q

Answer
They are the drive gears to connect the motor to the rotor
The small pinion gears are connected to the motor shaft and the large main gears to the helicopter blade rotor shaft like this:

IF you need to replace them, this is what they will look like:

How does a Mini RC Helicopter work?

Chaz

I understand the tail rotor on a "typical" rc or real life helicopter is used to counteract the torque of the main shaft propeller, but that is not the case on a mini helicopter. The rear blade is set up horizontally (controlling pitch), so how does the helicopter stay steady (question 1) and secondly, how does it rotate left and right...this just boggles my mind! Its an small RC Hog Heli w/ two main rotor blades btw.

Answer
The 2nd rotor goes counter to the main rotor, which cancels out the torque. To make it turn left or right the counterrotating 2nd rotor is either slowed down to make it turn one way...or sped up to make it turn the other way.

The helicopter can only hover when both rotors are counterrotating to each other the same speed. Vary the speed at all of one of the rotors and then the counterrotating forces are no longer equal and the heli turns in the direction of the lacking torque

how can you build a RC helicopter ?

Q. My friend an i want to build a powerful rc helicopter with a wireless cam that has a good range but we have no plan on how to build it and where to buy the stuff for it

Answer
RC Crafting was once a exciting hobby enjoyed by all ages, but nowadays with smaller and cheaper electronics, it has long died as an art form. The sheer joy of detailing a minature craft and watching it take off was the Nintendo of yester-years.

The fact that you specified a wireless cam as an attachment leads me to think its not RC'ing you two are interested in, but rather sight-seeing or dare I say, spying, is what you are exactly looking for. In that case they already make something like that as a toy. It has limited range and either a b/w camera or a colour one. Some have mini monitors built into the controller, and others require pc or TV hookup for the receiver.

How can i control my rc helicopter from my pc and connect a camra to it so i can also see it out of my pc?

pony

I'm want to fly my helicopter around my city and control it from my pc

Answer
The radio control box you use now can be linked with software to a computer. Do a Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=transfer+os+to+another+computer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#hl=en&client=firefox-a&tbo=d&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&sclient=psy-ab&q=rc+helicopter+control+by+computer&oq=rc+helicopter+control+by+computer&gs_l=serp.12..0i13i30.62657.62657.2.65224.1.1.0.0.0.0.125.125.0j1.1.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.e4-v4YJr6zI&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=f4422cad1e203d45&bpcl=38897761&biw=1272&bih=610
You will need a high gain dish antenna to track the helicopter if you wish to fly farther than 300 feet from the control station. And with a GPS on board, the copter would be preset to return home if the link is lost.
For video link from the rc helicopter: https://www.google.com/search?q=transfer+os+to+another+computer&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#hl=en&client=firefox-a&tbo=d&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&sclient=psy-ab&q=video+link+from+the+rc+helicopter&oq=video+link+from+the+rc+helicopter&gs_l=serp.12...64897.64897.3.71770.1.1.0.0.0.0.166.166.0j1.1.0.les%3B..0.0...1c.NaN05bHGy7E&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=f4422cad1e203d45&bpcl=38897761&biw=1272&bih=610

I have seen such RC helicopter video systems used by law enforcement, military battlefield intelligence, and professional motion picture cameramen on TV shows about technology. Now there are miniature electric copters with wireless video cameras on them for indoor use. You can fly around hallways and rooms with them. Some are inexpensive. http://www.rchelicopterfun.com/blade-mqx.html
Wireless security camera weighing a couple ounces is here: http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Wireless-Color-Camera-Microphone/dp/B000YM2OIK
You can input the composite (RCA jack) video into a computer with a video capture device on USB, but I would advise against it--might not work well with the radio control. You can use a portable TV like from Viore that will show the video well.

i need a good rc helicopter?

Tyler C

please someone tell me a good battery powered rc helicopter ( preferably a 3d helicopter )

Answer
I have just recently ventured into the RC Helicopter world. For my first heli I decided on an ESky Lama V4 which is what they call a coaxial heli. It has two sets of main blades stacked on top of each other turning in opposite directions & no tail rotor. It offers up & down(of course), sway left & sway right, forward & backwards, and spin left & spin right. After researching them a bit I found that the coaxial heli is perfect for beginners and novice pilots due to the controls being very easy to learn and master. This unit came with a flight simulator that allows you to fly right on your computer using the actual remote for the heli. It also came with a training kit to help aid in first time flights and landings. All this cost me about $85.00. It is a nice sized heli for still being considered a mini. It measures about 16" long and about 7" tall.
There is a another helicopter made by EFlite called the Blade CX and CX2. These are very close in comparison to the Lama but with a little higher price at about $120.00. Both are very nice helis and look great! Also both of these helis are easily upgraded to allow for individual tinkering and likes if your brother decides he really likes the RC helicopter as a hobby. Oh, I forgot to mention........ both of these are electric helis and can be flown indoors as well as outdoors. Hope this helps!

how do i fix my mini hughes 300 fairy rc helicopter?

my helicopter wont work. when i turn it and and press the forward stick the blades spin for half a second then stop, can somone tell me whats wrong and how to fix it?

Answer
Hello. Sorry, but you bought a cheap rip off helicopter from the actual PicooZ or Air Hogs Havoc. The Mini Hughes 300 is poorly made. You may have a receiver chip error or some sort. It can not be fixed unless you know your stuff. So... I would suggest returning it.

The Air Hogs Havoc is the best mini RC helicopter with 2 channels.

Answer
definetly use crazy glue, hot glue wont work as crazy glue, why? for hot glue you need a large amont and it wont be glue like crazy glue does, that will cause the helicopter vibrate a lot, use crazy glue, you use less glue and get a powerful union.

S107 helicopter wobble problem please help?

me

Ok so after flying the s107 for a few days and some minor normal crashes it wobbles whenever I try to fly it. Even when i barely increase the throttle (to where it wont go up and you can turn it around on the ground) it just starts to tip over. When I try to actually fly it it will wobble for a few seconds until the blades catch each other and it crashes. I have had this problem on two helicopters now and I don't know how to fix it.

I have tried adjusting the little knob (sorry I don't know the proper name for it as I am not a pilot) and it doesn't help. I have made sure that the blades are tightened too.

It has not been in any severe crashes to where something would break. I have noticed though, that the top blades connector piece can move (like a teeter totter). I am wondering if there was a little plastic piece that has broken and fallen out.

Also this started happening to my first mini rc heli (which looks exactly like the s107 but doesn't have a model number and a different style front plastic piece.) This one has been flying for months and has had some pretty nasty crashes.

Please if you have a fix for this it would be very appreciated if you would tell me. Thanks!
here is a link to a video showing the problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3Y7_H1NOts
The second helicopter is a Falcon 3.5CH
