StarGlitte

I want to buy a remote control helicopter. i bought one but something was wrong with it and it cannot fly, It was a cheap lousy model. I have no experience in flying a RC helicopter. i want to buy a helicopter that is NOT MINI, that is EASY TO FLY, has a long flight time of AT LEAST 15 MINUTES, and that can be CHARGED BY ELECTRICITY. I am not familiar with famous RC helicopter brands. I do not know which brands are good.

Could you PLEASE HELP ME OUT and recommend websites to buy RC helicopters at cheap prices and also INFORM me of the brands and models which are good.

One more question: What is the longest flight time for RC helicopters?

Please help me.

Answer
Hello,

The best place i can find to buy a RC Helicopter is RCMODS.

You can visit their website here: http://www.rcmods.co.uk

There is a great range of beginner - advanced models and all spares are available unlike many of the cheap toys helicopters you find many retailers selling.

can Remote Radio Control RC MINI Helicopter fly outside in the sun?

MR.S

I wanted to buy a "3 Channel Remote Radio Control RC MINI Helicopter HR" but I am not sure if it can fly outside in the sun, it also says: Controlled by digital technology. Infra red control system .
Does anyone know whats the infra red control system?

Answer
No, the 3 Channel Helicopter you are deciding to purchase can NOT be flown outside if there is sun. The sun disrupts the Infrared beam that is sent to your helicopter.

The range of an IR signal is usually limited to around 30 feet or less. Infrared, also called optical control or opti-control, requires line-of-sight, that is, the LED on the IR transmitter must be pointing at the IR receiver in order to work. It doesn't see through walls. Depending on the strength of the IR signal and interference from sunlight or other infrared-transmitting devices, the range may be shortened. These limitations make IR unsuitable for RC vehicles intended for long-range flight, outdoor racing, and other activities where it may be difficult to stay in range and within line-of-sight.
So... now you know... Let me explain what you might see when you go outside and try. When you go out, you will try to fly your helicopter. It will work, but after a while, itll start flying by itself, and youll lose contorl. It will work, its just that your range is incredibly shortened. It is no rumor, it is true science.

What's the best mini RC helicopter to get - around or under $100? Best value, quality, durability, range?

WuGuang

I recently tried out a mini RC helicopter that was about 20 bucks from the drugstore. It was really fun! But I'd like to get one that is a little better, perhaps has more range, higher quality, and a lot of fun. Any recommendations? I would like it to be a mini, not a standard size one.

Thanks!

Answer
The E-Flite Mcx S300 is on sale right now for $99.99. Everything you need to fly is included. Small, durable, and fun. Everything you need and described all in that package. Here is the link:

I need help choosing a rc helicopter to buy i dont want to need professional training?

Q. i have had 2 mini helicopters with auto stabliser but i want somthing more complex im also looking for something costing less than $300 (AUD) thanx for the advice.

Answer
I just recently got into the rc helicopters and purchased the ESky Lama V4. These mini copters are perfect for a beginner or novice who is looking for a unit that is easy to control. Another unit which is the sister to the Lama is the EFlite Blade CX and CX2. Both the Lama and the Blade are what are called coaxial units which give you effortless controlling. If you are looking for something a little more advanced, Both ESky and EFlite offer larger models that require a little more skill. All in all, most of these units will fall within your price range. Hope this helps!

why wont my mini rc helicopter fly outside?

Neil J

no its not the wind. im talking about the copter doesnt react to the remote like it does inside. outside theres more of a delayed reaction. tell me why is that?

Answer
It is because your helicopter most likely uses infrared technology.
So when flying outside...
It does work, but the signal is just shortened.

Now, if your helicopter had an antenna on it, and it isnt using infrared technology, then it is most likely due to interference. but I doubt it.
Does your remote look like this:

something like that with a red thing on top? If yes, I answered your question properly.

Are Radio Control vehicles dangerous for your health?

I am thinking about buying a radio control mini helicopter and I am concerned about the possible dangers that could be caused by the radiation emitted from the transmitter.Do you think that they can cause possible health problems like mobile phones or wireless networks are said to?If so do you think that RC is more dangerous than IR DA?Any opinion is welcome.
Thank you

Answer
All kinds of radio waves can be potentially dangerous.
â[Lakehead] University president Fred Gilbert, whose academic interests include environmental studies and natural resources science, is worried about the health impact of the 2.4Ghz radio waves used by wireless networksâ. In effect, Wi-Fi was prohibited on most of the campus. âMr. Gilbert believes that âmicrowave radiation in the frequency range of Wi-Fi has been shown to increase permeability of the blood-brain barrier, cause behavioral changes, alter cognitive functions, activate stress response, interfere with brain waves, cell growth, etcâ. Unfortunately, science says he is wrong, and his students are suffering as a resultâ.
Therefore.....using all this kinds of things(including microwaves and mobile phones) should be done with care.
As for the guy above, radiation has probably burned his brain and has become an idiot.

how can you build a RC helicopter ?

Q. My friend an i want to build a powerful rc helicopter with a wireless cam that has a good range but we have no plan on how to build it and where to buy the stuff for it

Answer
RC Crafting was once a exciting hobby enjoyed by all ages, but nowadays with smaller and cheaper electronics, it has long died as an art form. The sheer joy of detailing a minature craft and watching it take off was the Nintendo of yester-years.

The fact that you specified a wireless cam as an attachment leads me to think its not RC'ing you two are interested in, but rather sight-seeing or dare I say, spying, is what you are exactly looking for. In that case they already make something like that as a toy. It has limited range and either a b/w camera or a colour one. Some have mini monitors built into the controller, and others require pc or TV hookup for the receiver.
