Your criteria will be hard to find to those EXACT specifications. For a durable helicopter doesn't have to be made out of metal. I have plastic RC helicopters on which I fly inside and they have lasted a very long time.
One popular brand of helicopters is SYMA. They make good helicopters. I haven't had any personal experience with their products but I have heard and read very good reviews and feedback on them and have not yet come across any negative feedback.
I just bought a helicopter which is controlled from your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad - or Android device.
It was just over $30AU, it's got a charge time of about 45min, which is charged from the USB port on your computer. And it flies for about 5-10minutes.
It also fires out little plastic missiles from the sides on command. It's got a range of about 15m.
It's around 7inches long and is 3ch.
The controlling is accomplished by a small infrared transmitter which plugs into the 3.5mm headphone jack in your Apple or Android device.
The name of this helicopter is a U809 Cobra, made by iHelicopter.
I hope this helps.

HK 450GT pro v2 or HK 500GT rc helicopter from HobbyKing.com for beginner?

I have flown co- axial 4 channel helis before and i have a sense of orientation and stick movements but i have never flown a 6 channel heli. Some people are saying 450 is better because they are smaller and cost less to repair but others are saying 500 is more stable due to the size. What size would be best for me to have enough stability but also be able to experiment a little with the 6 channel function?
Answer
I have limited experience with 500's, having only flown one a couple of times. I personally did not find it to be more stable than my T-Rex 450. But that may have more to do with the fact that the 500 needed a bit of tweaking. Physics states that larger is more stable, but quality will play a huge role in how well a particular bird will fly. The 500 you are considering is a T-Rex clone, and you are going to need to replace the head in order to be able to fly well. All clones have their problems, and I've always believed that if you just spend a little more to get the real thing you will be better off in the end. If you really must get the clone over the real thing, be sure to read this review:

Short answer: bigger is more stable and costs more to repair. I say go as big as you can afford. Your wallet may have to answer this one.
