I am a beginner and want to find a good remote control helicopter.

1. I want it to be able to get of the ground,
2. have a reasonable flight time in between charges
3. be reasonably easy to learn how to fly it doesn't have to be too simple I have a brain :)
4. flies straight when you want it too and not just in circles
5. This is not as important but it would be really nice if it had full range of motion (forward, back, right, left, up, down and possibly hover)
6. If it does crash preferably it won't shatter into a jazillion pieces maybe a gyro would keep it from crashing I don't know enough about them to know

I don't want one too big. Indoor is preferred to outdoor, but if it does both that's obviously fine too :). I've read that a "hobby" standard coaxial mini helicopters are better than "toy" helicopters because if something does break you can replace parts. On the other hand I'm NOT made of money so a $80 helicopter for fun is far out of my budget.

If nothing like this exists sorry to waste your time, but I'm hoping some rc helicopter junkie can read this and have a solution. I tried googling it, but I don't know enough of the terminology to find what I want. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

It is a 4CH 2.4GHz Mini Radio Single Propeller RC Helicopter Gyro V911 that can be flown outdoors. Here is an interesting Gyro Helicopter review http://www.radiocontrolledhelicopters.co/gyro-helicopter-review/. Does anyone know or do you agree with this review?

What kind of rc helicopter should i get?

I have Absolutely no experience and was wondering what i should get as my first helicopter. i don't want to spend more than $75 or $80 so i was wondering if it is even possible to get a good one if that's the most i can spend. Right now i was looking at the New Esky 2.4G Nano RTF 4 Channel Mini Helicopter. is it good? like i said i have no idea so please help!

Answer
I've been wanting to buy one of those for a very long time. Based on my research, it's best if you get one that uses at least 3 channels with gyro. Also, make sure it uses RF radio and not Infrared because infrared won't work in direct sun light and you have to be within a relatively close range of the heli for it to work. Read the reviews and buy something durable or else your money is down the drain. Also, check on the battery life and whatnot. If the seller says the battery lasts for 10 minutes, it probably lasts 8 minutes.

Rc heli, beginner???

So I'm pretty new to the RC experience. I have flown a couple mini RC helicopters before, but none like this. I am thinking about getting the Double Horse 9116. It seems like a fair price and had solid reviews. My main goals are to eventually fly to some higher altitudes (maybe 75meters) for cool pics, and just learn how to fly a 4 ch heli. I have two main questions. #1 is, does anybody have any experience with this heli? My second question is, What camera could i attach to it? I have a kodak zi8 which all mounted would weight about 115 grams. Seems pretty obvious that it would be too much for a 245gram heli. So what keychain camera could be best (maybe a live stream :) Preferably off amazon. Also, Is it true that the bettery is terrible.

Answer
A 10 minute battery is actually pretty good.

I personally would go with something like the Exceed MCP-X. You still have the gyro stab, and it is a light helicopter so the parts don't have as much inertia when they hit something solid. Bigger helicopters are far more likely to break when they crash.

I tried googling it, but I don't know enough of the terminology to find what I want. I found something called a "E-flite Blade mCX" off of a blog and it sounds awesome but the cheapest I can find it is $60 which is still far out of my budget :\. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Your in luck, there is a mini RC helicopter does fit your criteria pretty well.

Its the Syma S107 mini electric RC helicopter.

I've had mine for some time and I love it, its great fun and easy to fly. Its a good beginners helicopter.
If it does crash its got a metal frame and is pretty durable. Mine hit the ceiling, the desk, and the dog, and it just keeps right on going.

If you get it online you should be able to grab one for around $30 bucks. Thats it.

You can read a full review and see a video of it flying right here:

I hope you try the s107 you wont regret it!

Happy Holidays--

Cheers
